Asagi & Shusui Koi Fish For Sale

Asagi and Shusui are two distinguished varieties of koi — each with unique and captivating attributes that make them stand out in nearly any pond. Asagi koi are known for their serene blue hues that grace their backs, which are contrasted sharply by a vibrant orange or red that appears along their sides and belly. This coloration mirrors the calming depths of a clear sky reflecting a sunset. Their scales also usually have a net-like pattern, giving them an intricate, almost armored appearance.

Shusui koi, on the other hand, are the scaleless (or partially scaleless) counterparts to the Asagi. Introduced in the early 20th century, Shusui feature a striking line of mirror scales running along the dorsal line from head to tail. The rest of their body showcases smooth, un-scaled skin that accentuates their sharp, clean color division between the soft blue above and the intense red below, offering a sleek, streamlined look that is both graceful and visually dynamic. Both varieties embody the artful cultivation and tranquil beauty that koi are celebrated for.
